NOTICE TRAP
We are honored to have been able to interview a loved one who was able to give us his feelings about the rise of the TRAP phenomenon, having experienced it from the period of its peak to its gradual decline following the evolution of styles of music listened to and produced.
What do you think of the TRAP phenomenon?
The phenomenon of the trap I immediately hooked I was really a "screw up" of the trap. TO Nowadays, I still listen to as much.
I really like it, it really "matrix" me.
The impact has really been marked since Booba brought this back, since Autopsy 4 with Futur which was really trap projects.
Afterwards we have rappers like Karris Dosseh and Gradur who shed even more light on it, but it's mostly Kaaris with "black gold" which is an album directed by Booba so we understand why it worked so much.
The impact is so important because today there are still trap and big trap albums.
Its evolution even has an influence on people because everyone listened to it.
Some wanted look like such and such, people who invented lives to say that they came from neighborhoods or other.
Kind of like drill today. Even still when you listen to trap sounds to go to the gym or whatever, your determination increases and motivates you
What do you think of the influence of TRAP?
It has evolved well because behind the names I mentioned before them, we inspired the future generation like XV Barbare, PSO and 13 Block.
People have started to do it and especially those who do more or less well
What do you think of the evolution of the TRAP phenomenon?
After today with the effect of streaming a completely trap album will sell less than another which is a mix of commercial music and trap even when we look at the figures these are the albums that sell the most and are the most stream.
It's unfortunate but it's the music industry.
Nowadays, can we say that the Trap still has such a big place in the world of music?
You see the trap, when you look in depth it is also light. There aren't too many themes, but there are guys like Dosseh who aren't necessarily focused on money or drugs in what he says. He has references and that's what makes him interesting. Around 2015 for me, trap saved rap because we go straight to the point with trap. Musically they are very dark sounds in general which reveal an emotion. With this evolution, rap has changed dramatically because 90s rap was way too much to "phone" the way to build things. Some rappers on sounds like the trap reveal to us constructed, intelligent speeches and keep a common thread with this little hardcore side, which represents the essence of the style of music that is the trap we will not hide it.
But I'm not a hypocrite, you just have to know how to keep up with the times. At the time it was necessary to evolve so going through the trap was limited to compulsory access. If we take the example of Booba in France, it is he who has the longest longevity in his career because he moves forward with time.
How would you qualify the TRAP?
